Tech has a material problem.

Recycled was only the beginning.

Now we're looking closer at what goes into it.

When we started Nimble, tech accessories were virgin plastic. So we found another way. Recycled alternatives, without compromising how the products looked or performed. The first step. Not the last.

REPLAY™ Nimble's own material program

We created REPLAY™ in 2020 to turn post-consumer waste into material for product housings, internal structures and other components.

"Made with recycled materials" should mean more than a recycling symbol on the box.

Five recycled inputs. Plus what we're exploring.

Recycled polycarbonate and PET give existing plastic another job — from protective housings and internal structures to fabric coverings. Less virgin plastic.

Strong, lightweight and built for precision components like connectors and protective housings. Same performance. Less newly extracted material.

Recovered glass can be processed and used again in select products where clarity, strength and durability matter.

Flexible, durable and useful for protecting everyday devices. We use recycled silicone where product and manufacturing requirements allow it.

Our plastic-free packaging uses recycled paper to protect the product without leaving behind unnecessary plastic. All packaging.

Materials from other sources

We also explore alternatives such as aloe-based material and responsibly sourced wood when they offer the right combination of performance, durability and design. No material gets a free pass just because it comes with a leaf in the description.

Recycled content matters. It doesn't tell you everything.

The shift

A product can use recycled plastic and still contain additives nobody has stopped to question. It can look better on an impact report without being the best version of what it could be.

Where we actually stand · Progress, not perfection

Better materials are a moving target.

We're not going to pretend every product changed overnight. Some products already meet the standard. Some are being reworked. You'll be able to see which is which — on the product page, not buried in a report.

Real progress so far: certified recycled materials, plastic-free packaging and less reliance on virgin resources.
