Light Labs is an independent review partner we brought in to add a second layer of scrutiny on top of our third party lab testing. After every test is completed by our ISO 17025 accredited lab, Light Labs independently reviews the results for accuracy before anything is published on our site. They have no role in manufacturing our products and no incentive to make our results look better than they are. Their only job is to check our work.

Why do PFAS in electronics matter?
PFAS ("forever chemicals") are used in some electronics for water resistance, heat resistance, and durability, but they don't break down in the environment and have been linked to health concerns with long term exposure. Most brands don't test for them at all. We do, because what goes into your charger shouldn't be a mystery.
What does "third party tested" actually mean?
It means the testing isn't done by us. Every test is run by an independent, ISO 17025 accredited lab with no financial stake in the outcome, so the results reflect what's actually in the product, not what we'd like you to believe is in it.
Why publish the results instead of just a badge or a certification?
Because a badge asks you to trust us. Raw data doesn't. We're publishing the actual test results so anyone, customers, researchers, journalists, can see them and draw their own conclusions.

What exactly do you test for?
We screen for phthalates, heavy metals, and PFAS, at trace concentrations, across multiple product lines. All our new products have these test results. Older products have some test results but will soon be tested for the expanded range along with new products. Full results are published on this page.
Why do phthalates matter in electronics?
Phthalates are plasticizers used to keep PVC soft and flexible, common in cables, connectors, and casings. Some have been linked to health concerns with long term exposure, which is why we screen for more than 20 regulated phthalates and work to keep levels below safety thresholds, not just at them.
